An active principle of Green Punarnawar is Punarnavin, this plant contains a lot of nitrate and other salts which are very useful in jaundice, anasarca, stranguri, ascites, gouty arthritis, renal infection and insufficiency and it is a promising diuretic in nature and which diuresis is mainly renal. This is due to the action of incarnadine on the tubular epithelium which inhibits fluid reabsorption and thus increases the volume of urine and partly increases blood pressure

INDICATION :

A mild diuretic in cases of Anasarca, Strangury, Ascites, Jaundice, Renal infections and insufficiency, Joint affection in gouty arthritis

DOSAGE : 

Adult: Two teaspoonful thrice daily after meals

Children: ½ to 1 teaspoonful thrice daily after meals or as directed by the Physician
